White Peach Sangria

White Peach Sangria is such a refreshing summer drink! Sangria is my drink of choice and I love the different variations throughout the seasons. Summer is my absolute favorite time of year and it’s the time I transition from red wine to white wine. Most often I do enjoy red sangria, but once in a while I’ll go for white… like this recipe.

Peaches are such a delicious summer fruit, which makes this sangria the perfect summer beverage for backyard BBQs! If you are having a party, you may want to double (or triple) the recipe, depending on the number of guests. Stress, Anxiety, + Caffeine Addiction: My Personal Struggles

You may already know a bit about my background and how I came to nutritional therapy… but for those of you that don’t, here’s some background info on me:

  • Growing up, I lived on fast food and processed foods on a daily basis
  • I never exercised
  • I smoked a pack of cigarettes daily (from age 13-21)
  • I drank alcohol and partied a lot with my friends
  • I drank TONS of sugary coffees from Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks
  • I also drank tons of energy drinks such as Red Bull, Rockstar, Monster, and many others
  • I never drank water, only diet beverages such as soda and iced tea
  • I suffered from severe IBS and always needed to be near a bathroom
  • Along with IBS, I suffered from anxiety
  • I also experienced pretty bad PMS and acne

Looking back now at how I was living, it’s so obvious as to why I was having those symptoms.

Even so, changing my eating habits back in 2012 made me feel much better, but getting my IBS and anxiety under control took more than that. It’s been a journey, and I did rid myself of my anxiety and IBS for a while (although I can definitely say my IBS is MUCH improved presently).

But life happens, and recently I’ve been letting some old habits slip back in, resulting in some pretty severe anxiety and panic attacks as of late.

Strawberry Kiwi Muffins (Gluten Free)

Strawberries and kiwis are my two favorite fruits and they’re a common flavor combination. I thought it might be interesting to try them together in muffins – blended into the batter. To be honest, the strawberry kiwi flavor is just slightly in the background of these muffins, although I definitely enjoyed them. These muffins are pretty dense and filling made with almond flour, cashew butter, and coconut oil. Try them for a gluten free breakfast on the go or as a snack!

Fruit Pigmented Lipstick: My Girly Look

Some days I really like to feel girly, and I’ll wear a pink lipstick shade. This new color of matte lipstick from 100% Pure is a really nice pink shade. It’s a dark, but bright color and stays on all day/night. I love this shade for going out and for work days when I feel like I need a nice pop of color.

Fruit Pigmented Lipstick: My Nude Look

So, at this point it’s pretty clear that I have a lipstick obsession. Lipstick was the first makeup product that I switched to clean, because I had read about how harmful it was and it was fairly easy to find clean replacements. At first, I was using Burt’s Bee’s, which is fine, but once I found 100% Pure, I became absolutely OBSESSED!

I love 100% Pure lipstick because it’s non-toxic, has vibrant colors, lasts all day and comes in matte. I’m super excited because they just released some new shades, and of course I had to buy some – I now have TONS of lipstick. 😀

This shade I am wearing is a deep caramel color – perfect for the transition from winter to spring!

My Nude Look:

 

The Complete Look: 

  • The lipstick I am wearing is the cocoa butter matte lipstick and the shade is Mojave
  • The eyeshadow is from the Ultimate Nudes Eyeshadow Palette and the colors are Gilded, Cashmere, Soft Peach, and Eggshell (for the pictures I have the pink shirt) and Pink Champagne, Cherry Blossom and Eggshell (for the pictures I have the black jacket). 
  • The eyeliner is the Creamy Long Last Liner and the shade is Blackest
  • The mascara I am wearing is the Volumizing Mascara
  • The concealer I use for my dark circles is the 2nd Skin Concealer

Raspberries & Cream Protein Smoothie

I don’t drink protein shakes/smoothies all that often. I prefer eating actual food. But every so often, I’ll either crave having a shake or be very pressed for time and need it in a pinch. Eating on the go is definitely not ideal, as we should be relaxed while we are eating in order to properly digestion our food. But, life happens and sometimes this is the only way to get our fuel in.

I included almond milk yogurt to this smoothie recipe to add in some probiotics and creaminess. This smoothie is also great left in the freezer and eaten as a protein ice cream!

The protein powder that I use is Reserveage Grass-Fed Whey.
The collagen I use is Vital Proteins Pasture Raised Collagen Peptides.
The jam I use is St. Dalfour Red Raspberry.
The yogurt I use is Kite Hill Vanilla or Plain.

My Current Skincare Routine

I change up my skincare routine every so often, based on my skin’s needs and based on new products that I want to try. My previous skincare routine was working well for a while, but then I tried some new products that I really fell in love with and have been seeing amazing improvements with… so I’ve changed it up again.

I’ll share my night routine first again, as this is the routine that I feel does most of the “work” in making my skin look and feel beautiful!

Skincare at Night: 

Now I wash my face with Beautycounter’s Charcoal Cleansing Bar. I had been very skeptical about buying this product because of the $25 price tag (which is why I was using a much cheaper brand previously), but now that I’ve finally tried it, I can honestly say that it is worth the price. You get what you pay for, and there’s a reason this bar is more expensive. It lasts long as well, but I’ve seen a great reduction in acne, as well as pore-size, and my skin is very soft. 

After washing my face, a few nights a week, I’ll use a face mask next. I rotate between Beautycounter’s Brightening + Vitamin C Mask, Plumping Mask, and Balancing + Charcoal Mask. These masks have made a HUGE difference in my skin. Each one has it’s own benefits and I love all of them. The brightening mask has made my skin more even-toned, has reduced pore size and made my skin soft. The plumping mask drastically reduced the size of my pores, reduced my smile lines and forehead lines while plumping my skin and making it soft. The charcoal mask has greatly helped with my acne while also reducing the size of my pores and making my skin soft! I highly recommend these masks!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next, I spray my face with Beautycounter’s Plumping Mist all over. This mist plumps up your skin and helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles! 

Next, I use 100% Pure’s PM Retinol Eye Cream under my eyes. This is an anti-aging eye cream that promotes collagen production, reduces wrinkles, promotes hydration and plumps the eye area. Or, I use Beautycounter’s Rejuvenating Eye Cream, which is great for dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then, I use Beautycounter’s Plumping Facial Oil all over my face. This oil moisturizes, while plumping and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Finally, I finish my night routine with Primally Pure’s Beauty Cream, which I am completely obsessed with. This cream leaves my skin extremely soft, reduces pore size, and gives me glowing skin!

When I go to sleep, my face is like an oil slick, but when I wake up my skin looks amazing and it all absorbs in!

 

Skincare in the Morning

 

In the morning, I wash my face with Tula Purifying Face Wash, which contains probiotics. 

Next, I spray my face with Beautycounter’s Nourishing Rosewater Mist

Then, I use 100% Pure’s Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream under my eyes to reduce dark circles and puffiness. 

Finally, I end with Beautycounter’s Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion all over my face. I love this face lotion! It adapts to your skin, giving you what you need. I’ve noticed a reduction in pore size also while using this! 

 

 

So, what I’ve noticed in the past two months, is a great reduction in my pore size and acne, as well as a great reduction in fine lines. I still have some redness and scars to work on, so I will soon be switching my face oil to the #1 Brightening Oil to even out my skin tone more.

Open-Face Turkey Sandwich

I recently had my Beautycounter launch party, where I had made cheese and cracker platters. I also added apricot jam, which was a huge hit. It really was so delicious added to the cheese and crackers. So, I decided to try adding jam to another savory dish – a turkey & cheese sandwich! The subtle taste of grape in the background really turns this ordinary turkey sandwich into a gourmet lunch! Don’t knock it until you try it 😉

Full Face Makeup for Special Occasions

Most days I don’t put on a full face of makeup. Going to work or out with friends/family, I normally just wear eye makeup and lipstick. But for special occasions, I like to go the extra mile. I like wearing face makeup for special occasions to make my skin look nicer, give me confidence and feel glamorous.

It’s important to me that the makeup I use has the safest ingredients possible, while still performing well and lasting through the day or night. That’s why I choose Beautycounter and 100% Percent Pure products. I’ve tried many brands and I find that these two work the best while utilizing the safest ingredients.

To achieve this look:  (see demo on my Instagram story highlights)

  1. After your usual skincare routine, prep your face and eye area with Mattifying Primer 
  2. Next, apply concealer under your eyes and over any blemishes or spots you may have that you want to cover 
  3. Choose a few colors from the Ultimate Nudes Eyeshadow Palette for your eyes. I always like to go with bronze colors for my eyes, so that they can have a natural look. 
  4. Next, apply eyeliner to bottom inner eye line 
  5. Now, apply foundation to face and neck 
  6. Apply matte bronzer over foundation 
  7. Apply a few coats of lengthening mascara to lashes 
  8. Choose your favorite shade of matte lipstick and apply to lips 
  9. Spray face all over with #2 Plumping Mist to set your makeup so it lasts all night!
