Jill

Jill McEvoy is a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. She spent years smoking cigarettes, eating fast foods, processed foods, and every man-made food imaginable. This lifestyle was accompanied by pretty severe IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), PMS (Pre-Menstrual Syndrome), and acne. While getting her BS in Criminal Justice, she learned about the paleo diet and discovered the power of food on our health firsthand. After receiving her Bachelor of Science, she realized her true passion was for nutrition, wellness, and fitness and returned to school to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. Jill hopes to inspire others to improve their lives with nutrition and lifestyle changes & discover how great they can feel.

My Workout Journey

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, or if you read my about me page 😉 you know that I wasn’t always interested in health, nutrition, and fitness. In fact, I’d say I did a complete 360 in terms of my beliefs about health. Growing up I loved to party, I smoked cigarettes, and ate fast food and every horrible processed food you can imagine on a daily basis. I mean, it’s no wonder I had IBS and…

My Skincare Regimen

So I know it’s been super long since I’ve written a blog post, but I’ve recently started a new skincare regimen that I am loving and wanted to share. I’m sharing my night routine first, since I have seen the best results with these products. Skincare at Night: I wash my face with Yes to Tomatoes Activated Charcoal bar soap, which is only $6 per bar and lasts a very long time. I’ve been using this soap for about a…

Experimenting with Exercise

If we truly want to be optimally healthy human beings, we need to include exercise along with our nutrient-dense diets. This is something that was hard for me to accept in the beginning of my real food/health journey. For me, for most of my life, exercise has been a negative. However, for the past 3 years now, I’ve been exercising consistently and actually enjoying it! Growing Up As you may know, growing up I ate a diet full of junk…

5 Healthy (Cold) Lunch Ideas

So I recently started working a new job – Operations Manager at LA Fitness. I try to bring my own lunch with me everyday, but with there being no way to heat my food, thinking of what to bring without getting sick of things has been a challenge. Admittedly, I definitely don’t end up bringing my lunch every single day, but I do my best to bring it most days. My gym is very close to the mall, so sometimes…

Product Review: Veeda Natural Tampons

Limiting our exposure to toxins is crucial for hormone health, yet most of the feminine care products on the market are actually loaded with toxins! Many of us don’t think about what our tampons and pads are made of, but most brands are actually sprayed with pesticides and other toxins. After I started eating more nutritious food and exercising, I realized it was time to start taking care of my body in every way – including switching over to as…

Egg-Free Breakfast Ideas

Sick of eating eggs for breakfast? Or maybe you’re avoiding eggs due to an allergy or sensitivity? Don’t worry, there’s plenty of egg-free breakfasts to eat! Breakfast has always been a tough choice for me. I normally wake up wanting nothing to do with food, but I’ve been forcing myself to eat breakfast because after skipping it for about a year, I realized that skipping breakfast was not doing me any favors. I personally don’t care much for eggs (although…

Cannabis World Congress Business Exposition

A couple days ago, my dad and I attended the Cannabis World Congress Business Expo in NYC at the Javits Center. Some of you may already know this, but I’m registered for the Certified Holistic Medical Cannabis Practitioner program that is beginning this fall. I am completely fascinated by medical marijuana and my passion for cannabis may even surpass my passion for nutrition. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still completely fascinated by nutrition and the human body in general, but…

An Honest Review of Beautycounter Face Makeup

So, I’ve been hearing a lot about Beautycounter lately, from many of my favorite trusted bloggers. Beautycounter is a makeup and skincare company that uses safer ingredients than conventional products. They test their products for safety, but don’t compromise on quality. Sounds great – I’m ready to try! Makeup is one area that I haven’t switched over to natural products (besides my lip care and mascara) because I haven’t been able to find any that work well and I’m just…
