Jill

Jill McEvoy is a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. She spent years smoking cigarettes, eating fast foods, processed foods, and every man-made food imaginable. This lifestyle was accompanied by pretty severe IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), PMS (Pre-Menstrual Syndrome), and acne. While getting her BS in Criminal Justice, she learned about the paleo diet and discovered the power of food on our health firsthand. After receiving her Bachelor of Science, she realized her true passion was for nutrition, wellness, and fitness and returned to school to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. Jill hopes to inspire others to improve their lives with nutrition and lifestyle changes & discover how great they can feel.

Toasted Almond Protein Shake

This is the greatest tasting protein shake I have ever made- hands down. I want to drink it all time, but of course I hold myself back to post-workout only 😉 This will bring you back to your childhood days of eating Toasted Almond ice cream pops – without all the junk. Now here’s a motivator to workout hard! You go through all the torture of the workout, get your endorphins, and then get a delicious treat… ahhh perfection! Try…

Stop Fearing Cholesterol!

Have you been avoiding egg yolks, butter, & red meat like the plague? It’s been drilled into our heads for decades now that saturated fat & dietary cholesterol cause heart disease and that we should all be on low-fat diets. Not only is this not true, it’s dangerous advice. Fats and cholesterol are vital to our health. In fact, our bodies make their own cholesterol if we don’t consume enough in our diet because that’s how important it is. And,…

Grey Sole Almondine

This recipe is light & perfect for summer. I aim to eat fish at least twice a week. Grey sole is very thin and cooks really fast so it’s perfect for a quick & easy meal. I paired my fish with asparagus sauteed in olive oil and roasted red potatoes (potatoes not featured in the recipe). I use Kasandrinos EVOO. I don’t know if you’ve heard about it, but there’s been deception going on in the olive oil industry-…

Coconut Mango Protein Shake

So I’ve been training for about two months now and I am starting to see results! I’m so happy- I love watching my muscles form and feeling stronger. I’m also feeling better about myself after I had gained weight last summer/winter. My weight has always been up and down, but whenever I gain weight I really feel sad about it. While my focus is mainly on health rather than on weight loss, I do feel better about myself when…

Grain Free Tacos

Who needs Taco Bell when you can make these grain free tacos super quick AND not feel like you just died after you’re done eating?! I love Mexican food and I’m completely addicted to Siete Almond Flour Tortillas, so, naturally, I was excited to make some grain free tacos now that I don’t eat corn or flour tortillas anymore. I used Flavorgod Everything seasoning to whip these up quickly, and they were a big hit with my family. Betcha can’t wait…

Chocolate Banana Protein Shake

Now that 4th of July is over, it’s that time of the summer where I start panicking about how summer is almost over and the torturous winter will soon be back. It’s very hot and humid today- but you will not ever hear me complain about that! I don’t get people who complain about the hot weather, seriously. I soak up every ounce of sun I can get and enjoy every second of the hot weather because it’s…

Don’t Throw Away Those Egg Yolks!

We’re told by doctors and nutritionists that if we want to stay healthy we should avoid egg yolks. They’ve created such fear in people that we’re seeing egg-white omelettes on “healthy” menus at restaurants, Egg Beaters, and liquid/powdered egg whites across grocery store shelves. Let’s think about this using common sense- people have been eating eggs for thousands of years and eggs are real foods that are found in nature. I love this quote from Liz Wolfe’s Eat The Yolks,…

Strawberry Strudel Protein Shakes

I started working out with a personal trainer about two months ago and he is kicking my ass! His workouts are super tough and I am LOVING it! I decided to try drinking protein shakes so I can help rebuild/repair my muscles after all the heavy lifting. After looking into different protein powders- egg white protein, beef protein, & whey protein, I decided grass-fed whey protein was the way to go. I normally avoid dairy as much as possible (I’ll indulge…

Chive & Brown Butter Sweet Potato Fries

So, I’ve been using Tin Star Foods grass-fed ghee for a few months now and it has become my favorite cooking fat (as well as a delicious addition to my coconut oil coffee) and last week I finally decided to try the grass-fed brown butter and… Oh. My. God. It was heavenly. I am now obsessed. The first day I put it in my coffee and then used it in the pie crust for my Chocolate Pudding Pie. Then as I…
